Thomas A. Grady Sr. Dundee: Thomas A. Grady Sr., age 80, of Dundee, NY died unexpectedly Monday January 28, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, N.Y. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 2) at the Dundee V.F.W. Goodrich-Smith Post 8649, 125 Seneca Street Ext., Dundee; where a celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family would graciously appreciate memorial contributions to help with their Horse Rescue Program, and may be sent to 1971 Haley Hill Rd. Dundee, NY 14837. Tom was born September 2, 1932 in Hillburn, NY, the son of the late Thomas B. and Alma Sisco Grady; and has lived locally since 1947. He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne during the Korean War, was a former P.O.W., and decorated with the Purple Heart and Silver Star. On January 19, 1968 in El Paso, TX he married the former Lucille L. Laughlin - Littell. A farmer since he was 15; he was a Triple A Molder employed by Ingersoll- Rand, in Painted Post, for 38 years, until he was injured on the job, forcing him to retire in 1986. Mr. Grady was a very active in his spare time, being a member of Wayne American Legion Meade-Price Post 1208 Inc.; the American Agricultural Assoc.; the Yates County Cooperative Extension, a Life Member of the North American Hunting Club; and a former member of the Penn Yan American Legion Post #355, the Dundee V.F.W. Goodrich-Smith Post #8649, and the Penn Yan VFW Post 745. He was an avid Horseman, Bowler, as an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating, and was an accomplished taxidermist. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 45 years Lucy L. Grady at home; 4 sons Kim A. Grady of Keuka Park, Gary (Jerri Jayne) Littell, Thomas A. (Teresa) Grady Jr., Timothy P. Grady all of Dundee; 2 daughters Lisa Littell (Christopher) Cramer also of Dundee, and Theresa M. (Frank Saraceno) Grady of Endicott, NY; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Ronald (Reatha) Grady of Kyle, TX, Barry (Rhonda) Grady of Hector, NY; a sister Joan Paddock of Penn Yan, and several nieces and nephews.
