Obituary of Robert Lewis Bassett

Robert ''Bobby'' Lewis Bassett Dundee/Lakemont: Robert (Bobby) Lewis Bassett, age 42, of Lakemont, NY, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 1, 2024, in a tragic motor vehicle accident. Bobby was employed at Kuehne Construction Inc. as a Lead Plumber/Mechanic. Bobby was a respected employee and a talented team member. Bobby will be missed immensely by his employer, co-workers, and work wife, Robin French. In 2013, Bobby met Michelle Lee Bassett, who always referred to him as "Lewis" lol. They were married in 2015, and shared a wonderful life together that was filled with love, happiness, great friends, and numerous adventures. Bobby at the time did not realize that he was gaining a tribe with a car. Your spot in the car per Jukey, will always be there. Anyone who knew Bobby could appreciate his love for smoking meat. It did not matter what event or time he had to get up to put the meat on; you knew he was your man. After a long, demanding work week, Bobby looked forward to camp life. Most Friday nights were a race against time to pack everything, round up the dogs, and head out. Bobby loved the peace and solitude that camp brought to our lives. His wife will miss hiking the "Firefly Lane" with you and being in the presence of such a magical destination. On Tuesday nights in the summer, you could find him on the local circuit for the Seneca Lake Horseshoe League. Even though Christeen Freeland will tell you differently, Bobby was the best partner. Bobby was a loving and supportive father who spoke of his children with such pride and respect. His children Korina, Mackenzie, Destiny, and Ryan meant the world to him. Bobby was so proud of their accomplishments and the young adults that they have grown to be. Bobby was also a supportive and caring stepparent to Talon and Ridge Wright. He always was there to lend a hand when they needed him. Bobby is also survived and will be forever missed by his loving parents, Robert C. Bassett and Alta M. (Reed) Bassett; his sisters, Rebecca Bassett and Nicole Jayne; in-laws Phil and Carla Rider; and sisters in law, Tracey (Billy Joe) Gilbert and Chris (Tom) Cleveland; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Honoring wishes, there will be no calling hours or public service. A Celebration of His Life will be held in September on a date yet to be determined and by invitation only.
