Obituary of Alberta E. Lacy

Alberta E. Lacy Red Creek, NY, Dundee: Alberta E. Lacy, age 93, of Red Creek, NY, formerly of Rock Stream, NY, originally of Barrington, NY; passed away Tuesday December 3, 2024 in the comfort and loving care of her granddaughter Cara's home in Red Creek, NY. Honoring her wishes there will be no prior calling hours or public service. Her funeral and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimers Association, Rochester Chapter, 200 Meridian Center Blvd. Suite 110, Rochester, NY 14618. Alberta was born March 25, 1931 in Benton Center, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Knapp) Travis. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1948, and went on to attend Adelphi University on Long Island, NY. On December 19, 1953 in Mineral Wells, TX she married the late Wendell Lamar Lacy Retired U.S.A.F. Chief Master Sergeant who passed away on October 10, 2014. An "Air Force Wife" raising 5 children; she was a natural Kindergarten Team Teacher at Converse Elementary School in Converse, TX in the 1970's. But her favorite career was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Lacy was a former member of the D.A.R.; enjoyed crossword puzzles, and bowling on leagues for many years. She is loved and will be forever missed by 2 sons, Lamar Ron (Frank LaLoggia) Lacy of Florence, Italy, and Mark Arthur (Nancy) Lacy of Gulfport, MS; 3 daughters Joni L. (Gary) Palmer of Raquette Lake, NY, Janet E. Alexander of Oswego, NY, Julie A. (Lance) Pinckney of Las Vegas, NV; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a brother John (Janice) Travis; 3 sisters, Wanda (Warren) Howell, Janet Masterson, Laverna Lashier; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by 3 sisters Martha Jane Travis, Grace Wixson, and Evelyn Emmons. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to granddaughter Cara, her husband Kevin, and their children who lovingly cared for Alberta in their home for the past three years.
